American Issues Honors Assignment: Due 10/10.

Go to Realclearpolitics.com and read two articles: "Wall Street 101 and O'bama's temperament proves the right stuff."
How does each of these articles deal with the underlying issue of "class war" and how may it affect this presidential election?

The Wall Street 101 article details how supposedly intelligent and enormously wealthy people continue to take bonuses despite the financial crisis. It also discusses how people are failing to pay back owed money, therefore creating larger debt, and our "best and brightest" are standing by and watching this happen. The article about Obama stated that although he has a calm and even temperament, it may not be working solely to his advantage. It highlights the fact that although Obama keeps a cool head, in the current state of the economy, middle class voters could use someone who is heavily relatable. This issue could affect the presidential election in that it is one more issure that needs attention from the candidates. Aside from health care, energy, and tax issues, they must now also address the so-called class war.

The Wall Street 101 article deals with the concept of "class war" by accusing the upper class. It describes how wealthy, upper class business executives are accepting bonuses that are forcing their companies to fail. It also talk about the overspending people are taking part in, particularly the upper class. The increasing amount of debt is causing the economy to fall into disaster, and the middle and lower class citizens are suffering from it as well. The article on Obama's temperament describes how his calm, collected persona are affecting his successes. For the most part, this even temperament is drawing in the middle class people, much like himself. However, some people are also beginning to feel distanced from Obama due to his professional approach, fearing he may not be easy to relate to or connect with.
The election may be affected by this "class war" because voters will most likely gravitate toward the candidate whom they feel will represent their class the best.

The Wall Street 101 deals with the 'class war' because it singles out the upper class as the main reason for the financial crisis. The upper class business leaders made risky investments and bonuses with non-existent money which allowed their businesses to fail. With a rising debt, the economy was bound to fail, and it has. The second article stated that Obama's cool temperament may have an effect on his campaign. Also, this article talks a bit about the class war and how middle/lower class voters will vote one way, while the upper class voters will vote a completely different way.

the wall street 101 artical explain's (seemed realy biased to me) that the upper "more edducated class" (harvord degrie holders and the such) are always rite when there not as its well demonstrated within the artical by highlighting there underhanded buisness practaces and there gready policys / [N]O'bama's artical talked about that a new issue has arrisin in the presidental arena the issue of a "class war" and it went on to say how [n]o'bamas cool demenor and his ability to realate to the middle class will be to his advantige also it stated how the middle class will vote one way and the upper class will usually vote the other way
